Howdy,
Last night’s show was a powerhouse to say the least. We opened with Joyride and it set a great pace for the evening. The crowd was just over 20,000, but sounded like 50,000. Needless, to say, we very much appreciated the warm welcome and the tremendous energy from the crowd throughout the show. It truly is what fuels and inspires everyone on stage.
Today, I was brought out of a deep slumber state by an overwhelming smell that was not unlike a combination of jet fuel, rubbing alcohol, car exhaust and burning plastic. Not only did my eyes water and lungs burn, it also made me feel high as a kite. I quickly got dressed and sought out fresher air in the hotel restaurant. Fortunately, the combo of the fantastic cappuccino, fresh fruit and delicious omelet brought me out of my dizzy and nauseous state. Great hotel, but I could have done without that sort of wake up call.
I cant wait to sleep in my own bed again. As nice as these hotels have been, I feel transient and I never rest as well as I do when I’m within my own abode.
Time to head off to our next destination which we have been assured by locals as a paradise of sorts. Johannesburg has been an experience indeed, but we’re ready to continue our exploration of this lovely and unique country.
A large thunder head and an army of battleship gray clouds lurk on the horizon. I’m sure that they’ll slowly creep in to give Jo-burg a free shower and light show later this afternoon. Reminds me a bit of Las Vegas in that respect. We have some fantastic shows from mother nature during the summer.
I hope that you all have a fantastic day and that your lattes are gourmet excellence!
